Hey guys,

I've been struggling with the last three Nvidia drivers (R331) and I just can't seem to run my SLI setup with them.
I can use nothing past 331.40, which runs OK, but AC4 runs terribly on that.
The worst thing though is all the crashing and locks ups they cause. I've had numerous hard locks whilst playing games, some CTDs and lots of weird stuff.
I updated everything, updated firmware on my SSD as the hard locks caused it to not be recognised, updated the SATA drivers for my mobo.
That problem seems to have ceased, but playing games is becoming increasingly difficult.
I replaced the SLI bridge in case it was faulty, I've even tested both cards on their own and they work fine.
I formatted the other day to be sure, but I'm still having crashes and lock ups. I can only assume it's a driver problem.
Has anyone else been having issues recently? Or have any input as to what it is?

Also, if I end up replacing, I was thinking about a 7990, thoughts?

Cheers

System: Intel i7 3770K 3.9 / 16GB DDR3 / 2 x GTX680 / G1 Sniper 3 mobo / Win 7

What type/power rating of PSU do you have, have you updated your mobo's BIOS? Did you attempt both cards by themselves in the same PCIe slot, I am asking to see if maybe the second PCIe slot you are testing has become faulty.

Try using the third slot, move the cards around different slots to see if that helps.

@Devballs - I have a 1200W Corsair PSU. I haven't flashed the BIOS yet, I always save that until there is no other option. I tried both cards in the first PCIe slot. That's worth a try though. I will give that a go in the morning. Having said that, the fact that older drivers work just fine, I would assume that is unlikely.

@chumly - I formatted both SSD and HDD so I would imagine that would have removed them all? The 7990 that bad?

I use the first and third for SLI. Can't fit it any other way.

If that third slot isn't at least x4 PCIe, I could see this happening.
