Hi guys, need a good computer for designing games and apps, I've followed the template too.

Approximate Purchase Date:
September 2014

Budget Range:
£1,500 - £2,000 (as low as possible as I will need to buy my software too)

System Usage from Most to Least Important:
Producing/making games and apps
Testing the games and apps
And possibly playing some games

Are you buying a monitor:
Maybe a secondary one as I'll have a 32" Tv buy then which will be the main one.

Parts to Upgrade:
None, starting from nothing.

Do you need to buy OS:
Yes, Windows 7 Preferred
And a possible dual-boot with Windows 8 to test compatibility.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:
eBay
Amazon
Ebuyer
Any that will accept PayPal for payment.

Location:
UK

Parts Preferences:
Graphic Card - Nvidia (preferred but possibly ATI if persuaded)
RAM - Not fussed as long as it's fast and a decent amount.
Processor - Intel (AMD possible but with persuasion)
MoBo - Reliable.

Overclocking:
Not looking too yet, but maybe in the future as I want my processor to last.

SLI or Crossfire:
Unsure if it's beneficial as too may different opinions and never done it before to experience it.

Your Monitor Resolution:
Unknown as I'm not getting my Tv till Christmas.

Additional Comments:
Would like a Quad core i7 but other suggestions are considered.

SSD would be ideal.

Thoughts on a Raid for storage?

Internal or external HDD for backups?

Blu ray optical drive.

Relatively nice case please :)

Fan or water cooled?

USB 3.0 ports.

Need nice mouse and Keyboard.
Thinking of getting a Cyborg RAT mouse, but don't know what Keyboard.

Thanks for your help :)

You do know that X58 has been long discontinued right? Intel no longer supports the X58 platform. And most motherboard manufacturers don't provide software or hardware updates.

OP - if you want keyboard suggestions I have the Gigabyte Osmium and really love this keyboard: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/gigabyte-aviva-osmium-black-usb-30-20-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-mx-brown

Here's a system that uses far more current hardware:

Ah I did not know that, thanks looks quite the build :) and about £300 cheaper.

What about SLI/Crossfire, is there any benefits when building games?

And last of all, could I run two monitors off this GPU?

Thanks

I don't know, I'm not really a software developer so I can't help you there. I use my work PC more for CAD and rendering applications like Sketchup, Revit, and ACAD 2014. I'm going to be upgrading my work PC to X79 when/if I can get a good deal on an i7-3820 or i7-3930K.
