Hi,

It seems every time I log into a browser game it causes my computer to shut down with a kernel power warning. I'm assuming this is a graphics problem. Could anyone walk me through how to debug it so I can find the issue please.

Thanks

It sounds like your PSU is insufficient and when your GPU tries something more demanding than desktop or browsing it draws (or tries to draw) so much power that there is a lack for the CPU. If you could give specifics I might be able to help more (have a look at the stickies at the top of the forum for what info to provide).

Actually this is a symptom of a much larger issue and problem, not a simple ' debug and done'. First I would suspect the power is a issue but also I would think overheating. So I would first recommend using canned air on the computers vents, blow them out good (we are talking laptop?) if a desktop you have to open the case and blow out all the dust bunnies. If it was REALLY BAD this may be all the solution you need (also get the CPU fans and such).

If it is a power issue you can check the following response: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Lockups-Freezes-Hangs/Kernel-Process-Power-Warning-and-Lockup-Freeze/td-p/734535

Of course the usual suspects, have you run Malwarebytes to scan for malware? What Antivirus do you use and is it not only up to date but paid for? If you didn't buy a new year, then uninstall the antivirus and go to www.filehippo.com and download AVAST! or AVG for free, or even Microsoft Essentials at this point. Do a full scan was it clean?

These also stress test the system to some degree, did any errors occur? Did anything happen when doing this?

Lastly would be a full clean reinstall of the OS, so those instructions are much lengthier.
