I just managed to put together a custom PC. It's the first time I've tried to build one and was very meticulous.

I've tried everything out of this thread http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems

The pc boots no problem, however I can't get a monitor signal, I've checked the cable and tried a different' monitor so it's definitely something with the computer.

My specs are here:

Solution
Are you trying to use the gpu or the onboard?

If you are using the gpu, remove it from the board and boot using onboard to get system running, then install gpu.

Be sure to check bios and set video for either auto or onboard to start, then when system is running set to auto or PEG/PCIe

Solution
Go back to bios and set the video selection to auto or PCI (PEG). Use the same connection type you used for the onboard (VGA, DVI, etc). Also make sure you plug in the 2 6pin PEG connectors to your gpu. The connectors on your psu will be configured as 6+2 pin.

If you still don't get output, try reseating the card and making sure the PEGs are firmly connected.

Once you get the basice VGA output, then install current (non-beta) drivers from the Nvidia web site - do NOT use the drivers on the disc that came with the gpu.
