My son and I will be building a system for him to start PC gaming (Skyrim, Minecraft, BF4, Far Cry 3 etc...). We have gathered several of the components required an will be completing the purchases over the holidays. I am planning on using a Core I5 3570K and ASrock Extreme 4 motherboard. We have Microcenter near and we will use their combo deals. They had the CPU priced at 149.99 a week ago but I missed hat deal I am hoping for a repeat for Black Friday.
I would appreciate opinions on the build and any suggestions on the PSU. We purchased CX 500M when we found a good sale on them but have since increased demands on the system by selecting a more powerful video card. Also a recommendation for an air CPU cooler that would allow moderate overclocking and is 150MM tall or less because he has a 200mm LED fan in the HAF XB..
What are your opinions of the CX 500M for this build? We are not in a hurry to OC but we may decide start with a more powerful PSU (prefer semi modular) yo prevent needed to replace later. Your input is appreciated.
