What would be a good, future proof upgrade for gaming in my case?

I've got a Sandy Bridge i7 3770k chip on an MSI Z77 MPOWER motherboard with an NVidia ASUS GForce 760 GPU that has the built in overclock.

Now, I'm trying to help a friend, who is all the way over in the Netherlands (where computer parts are a lot more expensive) get a gaming rig built - she doesn't have a lot of money.

I'm going to be giving her this motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

So I'm trying to decide if I should upgrade my CPU, or GPU - and donate one or the other towards her build.

Also, my current RAM is at 16 GB of this RAM:

Is 16 GB overkill, and would giving her 8 GB of this have extremely adverse effects on my computer's performance?

Is there better RAM out there you would recommend I replace this RAM with out there, that would interface better with either the GPU you recommend, CPU you recommend, or what I currently have?

Or is my rig currently up to date and pretty future proof for quite some time, and is upgrading any hardware right now going to be a waste of money until new technology hits the market?

I realize these questions aren't the easiest to answer, so I appreciate anyone who takes the time to give their opinion. If there is optimal RAM and another GPU or CPU I could get, that is going to give me better overall performance - or if 8 GB of the RAM I have is perfectly fine and there is a CPU or GPU out there that will run better with my current set up, please let me know.

Also note that I do have NVIDIA 3D capabilities on my monitor, and I do use it with my games.

Your CPU is already good enough, if you want to upgrade to something like 3930k (which gaming performance wouldn't change alot), you will have to upgrade your motherboard as well. I would upgrade your GPU. 8GB of RAM is enough for gaming, it depends on you of what you do for your computer. If you do stuff like Virtualbox, video editing, etc. then it might affect your computer's performance. To me, future proof doesn't exist in my dictionary. Buy what you need now. There is always going to be better technology every year. Are you going to upgrade every year? That's up to you. If you are upgrading your GPU like what I said, that depends on your budget. Well, you would want something better than the GTX 760, which you would go for atleast like GTX 770, R9 280x, etc.

New GPU like 770 or 780 will see a great boost in gaming performance. 8 GB is plenty for gaming, if youre big on 3d rendering or digital image works kina things, you might see a great increase in performance with more RAM. If you don't already have a solid state drive for your OS and programs, this will make your computer feel MUCH faster, and if you store games on an SSD they will load really fast starting up, or whenever HDD would normally be accessed during gaming.

I think the OP is just good friends with that girl. I guess he needs to be careful.

The girl is actually a transgender boy, if you need to know, and she is just a very good friend and nothing more. She has had a very hard life - and has taught me how to draw over time, something I could not do because of injuries I got while serving in the Army - she has dedicated a lot of time and energy into helping me get back a hobby I loved and never thought I'd have again - I'd like to repay the favor.
