Basically I have 2 ethernet cables connected to my desktop PC. 1 ethernet running to the university router and the other running to the PS3. When I bridge these connections the Internet on the Playstation works fine, I'm able to play on multiplayer games etc. However, the internet on the computer will not work when the bridge is active. Does anyone know if there is a way that I can make the computers internet work at the same time of the PS3? I want to solve the inconvenience of swapping cables in the wall every time I want to play on my PS3.

You need to setup internet connection sharing on the desktop to share the internet coming into your desktop. It may not work properly though the school connection though as you are going though a double NAT (going though two private IPs to a public one) which can cause issues.
