Hi, I'm trying to downclock my GeForce 9800 GTX but it doesnt work. the clock is at 740 and it can't go lower. My fan speed was at 37% and i upgraded it to 100% but i can't lower my Clock.

I used EVGA Precision X.

I'm trying to do this because when I play Diablo 3 my game keeps going black and then come back.

Solution
Try msi afterburner..

well, black screen is a common problem in old nvdia card..
usually happens because of
1. fail gpu voltage controller..
or
2. deformed joint solder ball below the gpu..

1. if your card support overvoltage via software, then you may add a little voltage..or, you can mod it manually.
2. you can try to add your heatsink pressure mount to your gpu core, by tighten your heatsink screw..or use 3rd party heatsink with good pressure..
