So I just bought this graphics card, seems like I have it installed correctly, but when I turn on my computer it doesn't show up.

The fan on it is spinning so it has power.

I have my hdmi cord plugged into it going to my tv (which I use as my monitor) but no display comes up. So I plugged my old monitor into the VGA slot on the motherboard and when I boot up the computer and check to see if the graphics card is even recognized, there is nothing there.

I tried running the install disk that came with it, nothing.

I have the 6 pin one connected, but the 8 pin one with the two white plastic plugs at the ends I don't see where to plug those into? (The white parts) the cables seem too short to do anything with?

And yes my PSU is a HX650w corsair professional series

Well I didn't before, I plugged it in there because this card doesn't have a VGA port it only has the DVI port and I don't have an adapter on hand. I just wanted to see if the card was even showing up,

Yeah, I got it... but I'm saying that when you plug it into the motherboard, you get video, right? You aren't supposed to get that - which means your motherboard is defaulting to onboard video rather than pcie video.

Your PSU should have came with two 6+2 pin connectors.

It's the two cable at the top.

Otherwise you'll have to connect the "two white plastic plugs" to PSU-Molex cables (the two small cables in the middle)

edit: It's normal for the BIOS to default to onboard video. Because obviously there is no monitor attached to the graphics card.

Ok so i went and rooted through my computer stuff and I found a six pin connector to plug into the PSU with two 6+2 pin connectors on the other end for the graphics card!

So I have that all plugged in now. Gonna give it a try.

Huilun02 , these 2 conectors that yo plug in the GPU, are the one's that say PCI Express? I have a problem installing a R9 270x, and I have a Sentey 700w PSU, and that PSU have 2 conectors PCI Express and 2 that say SLI ready or something like that. and the computer works fine just until I plug the GPU, when I plug the GPU then the computer won't start, just when I connect the power chord to the PSU after I've installed the the GPU, the led's case blink and the fans spinsbriefly, the the leds blink 2 or 3 time more and the computer wont start, If i disconnected the GPU the Computer starts normal

Got to your BIOS (when your computer boots then press delete) and then search for something called deep standby internal graphics, try putting it into deep standby, while your (new) GPU is connected (I have never tried this so try at your own risk) It might set to your new graphics card.

Good luck!
