Playing 3D? Stick with Nvidia.

Hackintosh...

"the 600 series is only supported in Mountain Lion and version 10.7.5 of Lion, and the 700 series is only supported in version 10.8.3 of Mountain Lion (and newer)"

"The Radeon 7000 series recently received support in OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.3. Most of the mainstream desktop models in the 7000 series work out of the box; however, the installation process for these cards still has a few kinks"

"Mac OS X has pretty reliable support for the mainstream desktop cards from the 7700, 7800, and 7900 series"

Mac sucks. Why play games that require such a card, on Mac OS?

Yes but with the stock cooler it runs so hot and loud that hardly anyone will tell you to buy it.

If you can, wait for the release of the custom cooler models. No announcement on when they coming out.

does the 46% fan solution that amd released help cool it------ I also have an occulus rift coming in the mail--- it is being shipped now--- will nvidia drivers work better with 3d, and the occulus?

I am leaning toward the 770--- because with a custom cooler the 290 will cost 450 and not 400 --- the gigabyte 770 windclock I am considering is only 330---- also does anyone know of any particular model of the gtx 770 or r290 that are hackintosh compatible out of box--- either in 10.8 or 10.9 ----------

Apparently the gtx 770 runs at 77 celcius and the r290 runs at 95 celcius the hottest card on the list the TITAN runs at 81--- I do not want to put my precious i7-4770k next to a (nearly) boiling hot GPU---- fuck that--- and I could never crossfire the 290 because it would be even HOTTEr times 2---- Also with a custom cooler the r290 will cost me about 460 dollars--- and for 200 more than that (plus new psu) I could have SLI GTX 770 which would dominate ALL--
