Wireless repeater worth it?

Right now im using a tp-link pci card for wireless internet. I used to use a Linksys router with dd-wrt to as a repeater for my main router, and I would then plug from my pc, wired to my repeater. Will this be significant in increasing speeds? Or should I just stick with the tp link and not dust off the old linksys

Okay your "plug from my pc, wired to my repeater" was a crude way to make your Wired PC a Wireless PC. Now you have a Wireless PCI card there is no need for the repeater UNLESS you need to increase the distance of coverage by the main router. Then you would best be served to move the repeater to a mid point between Main Router and your computer to 'increase' (repeat) the signal to reach your computer. It serves no other purpose in this situation. I hope this helps.
