I am looking for a new cpu as my GTX 650 Ti bottlenecks my i3 2100. I have an Intel DH61WW motherboard, with 4 gigs of ram and a 450 W PSU, but don't have an after-market cooler, so don't overclock. I would like the opinion of the community on whether an i5 3570 or an fx 8350 would be a better option and if I should invest in any further upgrades

Edit: I use MSI Afterburner for a linear fan curve while gaming.

Well, you'd need to replace the mobo to get a FX-8350, which also means a new Windows license. You'd also want to overclock it at least some, which means a) a cooler (at least $30) and b) a [midrange] motherboard suitable for overclocking, which means nothing cheap. I think the i5-3570 is the way to go.

I actually am not going to upgrade my GPU for a while(2-3 years), so won't presently buy a new power supply
