How Long Do I Stress Test For?

So i'm building a new PC tomorrow and i was wonder how long i need to stress test my GPU and CPU for?

GPU: MSI Lightning's 770 SLI.

CPU: i7 4770k 3.5ghz.

GPU only needs a couple of runs of heaven, loop it for about 5 times, if it does BSOD or have a driver crash all is good.

CPU I would test for 3 hours then build it up so the final tweak you do I would run for 6 hours or overnight.

As you mind in using a stress test, I guess you're planning to overclock your CPU (obviously, its a k version). Normally, if you want to test the max. average temperature would be in 5-10 min. But if you got into unstable problems and don't know how to tune properly voltages, for a stable test it would be 3-5 min to make sure it is running steadily. Just be careful to not overvolt your cpu. You can always look out for any overclocking guide of a 4770k as it is a common processor.

Then nothing should get too hot, run Prime95 for CPU after 30mins post the temperatures using HWMonitor (HardwareMonitor). You could run some burn in tests with MSI afterburner or some Unigine loops to test the GPU

He isn't giving us many specs, only the cpu and gpu, so, would be better if he'd try to be more specific
