Hello, I am thinking of building a desktop tower and am not sure as to if all the components I have in mind are compatible. This is my first time so bear with. I already have 2 4GB ram cards, so here's the rest:

Cooler Master Elite 335U Mid-tower ATX
AMD A4-4000 Dual Core 3.2GHz
Sapphire HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 PCIE
Antec Basiq 500w 80+ PSU
Seagate 750GB 3.5 HDD

Compatibility aside, my big question is: is the PSU sufficient for those components (plus 8GB DDR3 RAM if that matters)?

Thank you all.

NO. That's an intel motherboard. You need an AMD fm2 motherboard for that A4-4000 processor.

What is your budget? What is the purpose of this build? Gaming? Watching movies?

My aim is to be able to play TF2 on highest, and perhaps COD4 and BF3 on any setting. My budget is about $500 NZD; I'm only 15.

Well the AMD A4 is a poor choice.

I still need a budget to work with. People will start recommending $500 parts soon!!

Oh ok that's about $415 USD

Will you be playing on 720p or 1080p?

Sorry, I'm real noob. I was thinking I might be able to squeeze a decent rig out of $500, but it appears that would be very hard, if not impossible. Don't worry about it now, but thanks very much for the help.

Well you would be surprised. It's possible to do @ 720p, but probably not @ 1080p.

Also, would you need to buy things like windows and mouse/keyboard? That would make things a lot harder considering windows is almost $100 by itself.

So my hope was not in vain? Thank you kind sir! I didn't want a 1920x1080 monitor, just something large enough that I don't have to squint. Also, could you make a rig that outperforms this?

What all parts do you need to buy? Do you need to buy a monitor too? Windows?

I recommend an AMD A10-5800k to start with. It's integrated graphics can handle 720p when properly setup. No video card necessary.

I already downloaded a Windows 7 HP iso, and extracted the key out of my current PC, I have a mouse but require a keyboard. I will also need a monitor. Nothing fancy, as a fore mentioned something big enough I don't have to squint. I am most likely going to get a job soon, so I will have money later on. Thanks again for your help.
