All,
I recently got a second hand DELL 2007WFP and tried connecting this monitor to my old laptop with VGA cable. I see shadow or ghost for all text and images on the monitor. I read at a couple of discussion forums that for this monitor, using DVI-D will help resolve the issue.

My question is this. My laptop is old and does not have a DVI-D out. Can I use a convertor for VGA to DVI-D and connect to the monitor with same effect?

Thanks for your help!

You cant convert the VGA's analog signal into DVI-D which is a digital-only signal.

You can convert it to DVI-I which still transmits analog signals but you'll probably see the same thing on the monitor.

Thanks for the reply! Is there any other way this can be achieved?

The monitor will only receive the same analog signals that your laptop produces with the VGA port. So you'll be seeing the same thing one way or another.

You are right. I already placed the order of the DVI-D cable so when I connected the VGA to DVI-D, nothing changed :(
