Upgrading/ installing a new SSD in laptop

So i was considering picking up an ssd card for my laptop. i have an asus g750jw. the one with gtx 765m gpu. i dont know the amount i should get and how to install properly with the existing hhd. i want to put win8.1 (the boot and some apps) and a couple of games like counter strike:go, BF4, and league of legends.

Get this one if you like for your OS and programs and for games too :

Just unplug the HDD when installing OS on SSD. Select the AHCI mode for SATA in BIOS for SSD and make it the first boot device under boot option menu.

Then you can erase the OS from HDD if you like too, and make it a storage drive, if you have space for two drives in your Lappy.

And it better to use a bootable media(DVD/USB) for...

i have been reading things about people having to "ghost" it. is this going to be a problem? i am a complete noobie in computers by the way

i have a question, on some websites that i have seen, there are ssd that are listed for laptops and some other ones that are just listed as an ssd. is there a difference

the ones listed for laptops typically are the same as the plain drive but you also get a USB-SATA cable (which is supposed to make the transition from HDD to SSD easier) and a spacer (some SSD are 7mm thick but 2.5" HDD are 9.5mm thick so the spacer takes care of that)
