I was wondering what would better for Planetside 2. I don't on overclocking anytime soon, even though I know that Planetside 2 is CPU dependent more then GPU dependent. Which one should I get? Also after PU1 on Planetside 2, is the game a little more GPU dependent or is it still CPU dependent?

The 270X is the GTX 660's rival so the performance should be very similar. I just looked over the specs and the 270X does have more shadier cores than the 660 has cuda cores but not a whole lot more and the 660 makes up for that with nvidias drivers being much more reliable. The 270X does have 256 bit compared to gtx 192 but i read that the gtx 660 192 does not limit it noticeably when compared to the 256 on the 270X.

I would be torn between the two cards so i cant really recommend one over the other. The 660 has amazing drivers and in my personal experience is rock solid with no issues at all, while the 270X seems to have slightly better specs. The refrence cooler on the gtx 660 is not that great i would recommend this version of the...

How good do you think the i5 4670 non-k would do in huge battles vs i5 4670k?

After the Performance update on PS2, how good would the i5 4670 non-k do in fps wise with a gtx 660?

I have an I5 4670K(not over clocked yet) with a gtx 660 SC and i get very playable FPS on planet side most of the time. Maybe its just lag but some days it plays incredibly smooth and some days it does have some pretty bad stutters. I think its just planet side 2 because i can play cod ghosts and assassins creed 4 at high settings with no stuttering and high fps.

With that said i would buy the i5 4670K so when you want more performance you can get into overclocking seeing as its just a 20$ difference in price.

Well before the performance update and before I OC'd my 4670k I bottomed out at around 35 fps with every ultra and shadows on low.

I'd guess you'd probably hit a minimum frame rate of.... 45? Depending on how much is happening.

Finally to see someone on here that plays this game with some of the specs I plan on upgrading to. Can you tell me what each setting you have it on and if you have physx on or not? Also is this the GPU you use: http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-SUPERCLOCKED-Graphics-02G-P4-2662-KR/dp/B00966IREK

Yep that is the same card i use, and i have physx enabled. All of the settings are at either high or ultra. I never play any game at anything lower than high or ultra settings but i am not sure off the top of my head what i was running PS2 at. I will update this post and give the exact settings shortly, but right now im downloading a huge patch for PS2 so it might be 30 min or more.

I just checked and i was running on ultra with everything turned on. It was very playable with just a small bit of choppyness every-once in a while. It still had the same level of choppyness even when i turned the graphics to medium so i assume its just lag on the server as none of my other games act like that. I read about PS2 and many people say it just plays worse than many other games and that no matter what it can act up a lot.

This is a little off topic but as much as i really do love my GTX 660 i would say if you can swing the extra 100$ the ASUS 280x has a lot better specs than the GTX 660 and would be a better buy. I even have my GTX 660 for sale on ebay now to help pay for a 280x. Dont get me wrong if your on a tight budget the 660 is well worth the price and performs great but im really into the best graphics and FPS i can afford so thats why i want the 280x and why i recommend it over the GTX 660.

As for 1440x900 i have no experience with that so i cannot say. Hopefully someone else can answer that but i would guess that might drop the FPS lower than you want.

If your intrested i am selling my GTX 660 SC on ebay ill include the link. I have taken excellent care of it and its a solid card. Take a look its a good bit cheaper than buying it new:)

js, AMD haven't had driver issues for a long while :)

Good suggestion regardless.
