Cpu core speed goes up, and down

Hi.
I randomly opened CPU-Z and I saw my "Core speed" randomly went up, and down. From "1396.92" to "3891.91". What can this becaused by? Also I think this could be why im getting random FPS drops, in Battlefield 4? My CPU is an "AMD FX6350" could this be due to the "cool and quiet" technology??

yes it goes down when cpu utilization is down. and when the cpu needs more power it goes up.

basically made to reduced core temps and reduce energy consumption

No, when im on my desktop with (NO) programs open and 0-1% cpu usage it would still do it.. Even though im just idleing.

Well that did not work..

I was actually gonna do that but.
this is very consfusing.http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=970%20Extreme4&o=BIOS because the newest one doesnt say anything about being windows 7 compatible

Oh I forgot to say that disabling "cool and quiet" fixed the core speed going up and down.
But I was trying to get rid of the Battlefield 4 fps drops
and that could be due to I have windows 7. And the game is better optimized for windows 8

Thanks for your suggestion, but unfortunatly I have already tried that serveral times, and it still doesn't work
-thats why I think it may have something to due with the "directx 11.1"

well then its quiet wierd how I can drops a huge amount og FPS in single player, on lowest settings with a gtx 760.
so I do not think thats the deal here..

Latest driver. Low temps cpu about 56-57. GPU about 63

Maybe try resetting bios to default and. See if it fixes ur issues

go to the screen saver and down the bottom change power setting.i had the same problem and i changed it and works perfert
