WIFI detected but does not accept password on window 8 laptop

I have a hp laptop and I recently updated to windows 8 , when I try to connect the network through my router ( tp link ) it won't accept the password and it keeps tell me its wrong , iam pretty sure that the password is correct because I use it to access my htc smart phone , what can I do ? I tried every thing but still the same problem

It's done this to me as well, luckily I have a repeater with the same password, and can connect through it. But in my case (Just now) I reset the modem and router, and now it's accepting the password. It has done it to me twice. Whenever you have a router problem, I find turning it off, then on again fixes a lot of things. The more common the problem becomes, then it's time to delve deeper. Hope this helps.
