Hi guys, I'm facing a bit of a dilemma in choosing a CPU cooler for my first build, and could use some help. I've picked out the following parts for my computer:

Case: Cooler Master N600
CPU: i5-3570k (will be OC'ing)
Ram: 8gb G.Skill Sniper Series 2133
MoBo: Gigabyte Ga-Z77X-UD3h
GPU: Crossfiring MSI Radeon 7870 ghz editions
PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750w

I'm looking at the Antec KUHLER 920, Thermaltake 3.0 pro, and the Corsair H80i for liquid cooling. The air units i'm considering are the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Noctua NH-D14, and the Thermaltake Frio OCK.

Any suggestions are welcome!

It boils down mostly to preference. But generally speaking, it takes a really great water cooling build (which also costs a lot more) to beat a cooler like the Noctua NH-D14. Otherwise most cooling solutions will cool better for less $$.

At half the price of those water coolers you can have air cooling that is just as effective and quieter

A Xigmatek GAIA 1283 or CM Hyper 212 is all anyone needs on a modern Intel processor ...........unless you are trying for extreme overclocks

And then the water coolers you mention will not be any use either

both will do the job. liquid coolers sound and look"cooler" plus stick a radiator towards the back or top of a PC case. air coolers tend to give you equal performance for a fraction of the price but you have a tower sticking out of your mobo for most better performing units

personally i prefer air coolers simply because I don't see liquid coolers justifying their high price

The reasoning behind getting LC'ing is mainly for aesthetics and possibly space as I hear both the Noctua and Frio are pretty large coolers. Any Idea how they'd fit inside the N600?

Alright that's good to see, but don't those large coolers place a lot of strain on the MoBo?

Really large heavy coolers include backing plates that spread the load

Im using a Scythe Ninja3 . Its VAST , and nearly 1 KG [ 2.2 pounds] .
It works
