Gigabyte Ep45-UD3R Motherboard
-Intel E8500 @ 3.16Ghz
-8GB DDR2 ram
-GeForce GTX 260

Hooked up via VGA to a PROVIEW 38" LCD TV
& a VGA to DMI adapter on the GPU side

Anytime I attempt to set the resolution to anything higher than 1280 X 1024 the TV goes blue and says NOT SUPPORT at the top right.

It also seems to set back to default resolution (1366 X 768) when I remove the cable from the back of the GPU and the only way I've been able to get it back to the working resolution is to hook up a second monitor and then manually change the screen resolution back to 1280 X 1024 for the TV.

Kinda tired of swapping and moving cables around just to get the resolution back to what I want.

But not really sure how to proceed.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

maybe the vga is limited in signal? did you try dvi-dvi?

I don't have a DVI cable ATM unfortunately. I've read before that Vga can support very large resolutions so I didn't think it would be a problem using a VGA.

not all cables are created equal.......... perhaps a borrowed cable?

are you using the right click on desktop or using the nvidia control panel to set res? in the control panel (nvidia) there are options under change res. also check refresh rate of tv. should be in booklet. may be very low.

in the tv's control panel........... is there another option for allowing pc hook up? right now you have the vga selected? maybe if there is another option?
