Not being a fan of extreme heat and liking power efficiency, I would choose the 780.

You don't need to spend that much on RAM, you could find a 8gb kit (2x4GB) at 1866/2133 for around $100 or less. Check out Corsair's Vengeance/Pro line.

CPU cooler, would recommend CM Hyper 212 EVO.

HD, I would recommend a Samsung EVO 256GB SSD, and a 1TB Seagate Barracuda.

Just has a discussion about memory on this thread:
http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1899007/memory-module-maximus-hero-4770k.html#12038750

and decided on G.skill given they are all in the same range, I decided to go with 2X8GB over 2X4GB just to be future proof. or else i would be wasting a slot and bottle necking myself to 24GB in future(2 years down the line)

I don't mind the heat and noise, expect the heat might affect the life of GPU, and given that R9 290 after market doesn't seem likely by black friday, I am thinking of 780 too, the question is which one, there are millions, I have read good review Asus(good over clocking room), MSI twin frozr (silent but that doesn't matter to me, its available for 480$ on new egg with 3 games)

Any suggestions for the 780?
