setup is as follows:
gigabyte ga-890gpa-ud3h rev 3.1
amd 965be, not overclocked anymore
intel 80gb ssd, boot disk
2 wd 320gb sata3 drives, supposed to be in raid0

as per all of the advice/guides out there, i started fresh, installed windows 7 64bit on the ssd, had the 2 hdd's unplugged. ran all updates once it was installed, no issues. made sure firmware for ssd was newest, runs great.

so now i try to set up raid0 on the two hdd's, i hooked them up, boot up, change boot order to ssd first, gets to the starting windows screen and hangs....takes like 5 minutes to get through it, which would be slow even for a regular hdd let alone a ssd with nothing but the os on it. anyway, it appears in my computer as the ssd listed as local disk c, then there's local disk e, and new volume f. e is 127gb free of 127 and f is 170gb free of 170gb. so total storage is a meager 290 instead of the 640 or so that it should be using 2x320 drives. my question now is what's going on with this, any thoughts? my understanding is that it should show up as 1 drive of the combined size of the 2 in the array right?

it looks to me like it might have gone into raid5 maybe? cuz the total storage of 290 would kind of make sense for available space on a single 320 maybe. thanks in advance guys.
