Hello, I have noticed while playing BF4 that my gpu usage doesn't seem to go above 70% while my cpu is almost always at 97%- 100% so my question is, is my cpu bottlenecking my gpu? All drivers are up to date.

Specs:
GTX 680 2gb
i5 3570K overclocked to 4.4 ghz
asrock extreme 4 motherboard
8gb ram
windows 8.1

Thanks

The game is rather demanding.

Is this with Vsync on or off? Vsync off lower gpu load under some games(any game that the video card has more than enough power for 60/120/144fps depending on the screen).

On the plus side, if you are cpu limited(the balance of your system does not look bad to me, but different games hit different parts of the system harder), you may be able to turn on some more graphics eye candy without a loss in performance.

There is no way your CPU limited with an i5 3570k @ 4.4 ghz feeding a 680 GTX...that chip could feed 2 680 GTX's without any problem. The game is built to use all of the CPU resources available and will also peg most modern GPU's at 60-80 % usage. It looks to me like your game is running as DICE intended. The issue is BF4 is very CPU intensive and can utilize even up to 8 cores...so hitting 90-95% with a quad is not surprising at all...again this is what DICE intended. What kind of FPS are you getting and are you looking to get more ? Are you getting lag while in game ? I have played BF4 almost every day since launch and I can tell you from my own experience that moving from Ultra settings down to High or even Med in some cases makes the game fly and does nothing really noticeable to the game graphics...especially while running around in multiplayer.
