I recently found a deal on newegg where the Sapphire 7950 non-OC goes for only $20 more than the Sapphire 7870 OC. Is this worth it? I am on a VERY tight budget, so every decision I make is extremely important.
Thanks if you can help me! :)

P.S. I am a noob when it comes to this stuff, so I am sorry if the answer was insanely obvious :p

wiht the higher model video cards they have more rendering power. (nvidia calles it coda cores) amd calls it stream prossesors. the more the gpu has and the gpu core used in games will let the card have higher frame rates. (nvidia 770 is gk110 gpu chip the 760 is the gk104. the 770 is it big brother as is the 7950 over the 7870.

That doesn't really answer my question but thanks for even replying! That means a lot to me!
Do you know if the price increase is worth it?

the anatech one if you look one color is the 7870 card the other color is the 7950. the chat is frames per sec that the card can output in games have set video res. your eye for games need the game to output 30 frames to look good. (min) if the card can do 60 or more you wont see any blinking or crazy stuff. on the chart you can see the 7950 has a higher frames per sec. with cpu and gpu with the build bucks you want try and get the fastest parts for the money.

Thanks for explaining the benchmarks for me! Are a few frames really worth $20 extra?
