low fps with sapphire 7850

I have a sapphire 7850 with an i3 3.3ghz 8 gbs of gskill ram and a b75m-dgs mother board and when I play battle field 3 i only get 20 fps at most no clue what is wrong with my rig any ideas?

How much fps you are getting ?? and what model i3 you have if its from 1st generation the CPU is bottlenecking the GPU.

Is that a multiplayer map? If so You should stick to the lower player numbers. There are one or two games that need max pc's and Any game with 60 players is one of them.

Yes I have updated my drivers many times trying to fix this and I dont know where to check my pc temperatures kinda a pc newb but it doesnt feel like it is running very hot.

Yeap thats bottlenecking. Might want to consider upgrading. Should have though about the stress it would put the cpu before upgrading your GPU

BTW if the CPU temp is around 97-100c(boiling point) your cpu might die very soon.

those temps are really bad.

buy this for 30$ and save urself trouble before ur cpu dies of superheat.

That is the problem. CPU is throttling while playing games and your GPU is not getting much data to process that why its running at a cool temp of 30C. The cooler may have lost contact with the CPU and you need to remove the cooler, clean the residual thermal paste from the CPU and apply a fresh coat of thermal paste to the processor and reseat the cooler back into its place. This will fix the issue
