How do I choose the RAM?

Solution
beyond benchmarking, most RAM 1600 or above gives no noticeable difference in performance. So just find the one you like the look and price of. Then google a few reviews to make sure there's no glaring issues and go for it.

When I was buying RAM, Gskill Ares 2133 was only $5 more than stock 1600 RAM. It looked nice and was low profile (so as not to clash with the CPU cooler), so I got that. But it makes no difference if I clock it to 1600 or 2400.

all anyone ever does on this forum on this forum is game so you only need 8GB ;) you want a CAS latency 9 or below really, don't worry about what that is, just think of it like this, a CAS latency of 12 is bad. You want a fair amount of speed so not old RAM below 1333. you want DDR3 RAM. finally GSKILL, Corsair and Kingston are the best and safest brands, also you can use Crucial if you have to.

depends on your use. When I overclocked my RAM I got much faster Video Rendering times when video editing.
