Computer won't pass POST with new 8GB RAM module

I have purchased a new RAM module for my computer. It is an 8 GB, 1600 MHz module, running at 1.5v. My problem is, that whenever I attempt to boot with the new module, the computer will power on, start POST, and then restart itself. It recognises that it is running in single channel mode, but it doesn't display the amount of RAM. My computer boots fine with the old RAM (2 GB 1333 MHz RAM). I am fairly sure that my motherboard only supports 1333 MHz RAM, but to my understanding, the ram should clock itself down? I have tried the RAM in all of the (2) ports available on the motherboard, with and without my old card. The only way I can manage to get it to boot is solely with the old module.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

My specs are:
ECS H55H-I motherboard
i3-530
650W FSP PSU
Palit Jetstream GTX 760
The new RAM is one Transcend 8 GB module (JM1600KLH-8G)

Sounds great. Now go back to primary school. I need real advice here, not some troll.

Try manually underclocking it to 1333 MHz in the BIOS settings.

I can't reach the BIOS with the new module. I would assume that it is already clocked to 1333, since the old module ran at that speed? Or is there some sort of auto-clock in place? It would be safe to set that clock with the old RAM right, considering that is the speed that it runs at?

Have you got another stick you can put in for long enough to get into BIOS and go back to either Default or Optimised Settings?

Your mobo doesn't support 8GB sticks, only 4GB sticks and only 2 of them - max is 8GB
