Hey guys, so as the title says, I want to know how to underclock/undervoltage my CPU to reduce heat and power. It's running at default speed of 3.6 Ghz, and I was thinking of running it to 2.6 Ghz.

I got an Intel Core i3-4340 3.6GHz Dual-Core Processor
with Gigabyte GA-H87N-WIFI Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard

Here's my build

Thanks in advanced for the advice.

You should not be under clocking your CPU to reduce heat and power. I mean yes if you do under clock it it will reduce power consumption and heat output; but it is senseless to spend on a good CPU and then run it below what it is capable of.

Your PC Build is good, with that Cooler Master Case you should not be worried about temps as you don't even have a dedicated GPU, there is hardly any heat producing components in your case. unless you assembled it incorrectly you should get nice cool temps.

Try looking into what is causing High temperatures and High power consumption (I doubt power consumption will be high.). Fix the cause for this , under clocking your cpu is not a solution.

Post your Temperatures.
1. At Idle when you are AFK...

1. At Idle when you are AFK and don't use PC at all
2. When you are doing light work, like browsing net, watching you tube videos or a movie.
3. When under heavvy load, Gaming or rendering.

We will try to solve your issues without the need of under clocking. At stock speeds the processor should run at acceptable , good temperatures which should not be high at all.
