rebuild wont start

I replaced the motherboard in my Gateway FX4200 with an ASUS M5A78L-MUSB3, AMDFX4100 CPU and 2 x 8GB of G.Sink RAM (on latest QVL).

I connected VGA, Keyboard, USB wireless mouse and power. The Onboard LED is lit.

When I press the On switch it flickers and the Case and CPU fans run momentarily and stop.

I checked all connections to the Motherboard they seem fine.

Any advice?

Try testing the board outside the case, for ruling out a short. Check for extra standoffs that might short the board, or the CPU fan backplate (if installed).

Thanks alexoiu. It turns out my PSU was not up to the task! Installed new beefier and all is working. So far!
