Old HP Pavillion desktop, CPU fan not turning, Boot up quits -CPU shutdown -fan not working. Swapped fan with rear fan, original works fine, even plugged it in 3 pin socket for rear fan. Runs enough to get into bios but I dont see any setting related to temp, fans etc. AS soon as you get out of bios it quits. Any guideance? Ready many posts cant find my issue.

I reseated the connector originally, no impact. The CPU heat sink was never touched (HP installed). It firmly in contact.
Unit was working properly. Then rebooted and the problem started. Removed and installed the fan again, no change. Fan works on a different computer or fan connection on the motherboard but the OS still shuts down the computer because its not sensing the correct power draw from the correct fan connection Im guessing.
