G'day all. I am trying to configure two GTX780 in SLI using a Gigabyte GA-X79-UD5 and a 1200W Thermaltake PSU. I plugged one pair of power cables to the red bus and one pair to the blue bus, but it is clearly wrong as I am only getting output from one of the two GPU cards. Current Nvidia driver is 9.18.13.3182.

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated..

Thanks and cheers,
Mac

Ok you're wrong or Are you?
What you need to do is connect the blues to one card as shown in this pic and connect the reds to the other card.
Not one Blue and one red.... nope

Meaning One V4 Blue 8Pin PCIe Connector and One V4 Blue 6Pin PCIe Connector to one card. And One V3 Red 8Pin PCIe Connector and One V3 Red 6PinPCIe Connector to the other card.

Another thing is have you enabled SLI in the NVCP? Have you connected the cards using the SLI Bridge?
And how have you concluded that only one GPU is working?

Thank you for your reply. I have in fact connected one card to the Blue sockets and the other card to the Red sockets, so I got that right. I have also installed the bridge. But I have not enabled "SLi in the NVCP" More information needed for this newbie please?

Well,..... There seems to be just one card inserted and connected (Powered on ) in the rig.

Now would be a good time to take a pic of the setup of the internals of the rig with the connections on the GPUs and from multiple angels to be able to see what you have done (Physically) inside the rig and post them here. PSU power cables and connections inclusive.

I am afraid that you will have to accept my word for the fact that the power is correctly attached because my camera is not available until the weekend. However I will take photo's on Saturday or Sunday and post them then.

I also have one SLi strap in place which is positioned at the far end from the power sockets.

The problem has been resolved. I commenced fault finding by swapping the GPU's and not for the first time in my long life the problem vanished. I suspect that one of the two GPU's, the one from which I was not getting an output, was slightly loose in the MB slot. It seemed to come out a bit easily.

Thanks for your help.
