Hello all!

Well since I am upgrading my system by next month, I decided to do what I was afraid to do in the past and that was overclocking my CPU. I pretty much had no idea how to do it but reading forums and watching youtube video to overclock gave me a bit more confidence to try to overclock my Q6600@2.40GHz.

As you can see below the pictures, these are the before screenshots.

Processor speed

Temp

During bios, I change the CPU Host Frequency to 333 and the PCI Express Frequency to 100

Keep in mind, this computer been running for over 8 hours. During that time I was playing Skyrim at max graphics for at least an hour without any crashes. Here are the pictures of the overclock results after 8 hours of run time.

Processor speed

Temp

Did I do okay for my first overclock? I know it not all that but it was a fun learning experience to do it lol

Having no bsod while gaming or long run desktop working, is a good indication that your system is stable enough..

Just make sure your processor temp is in safe area.

That's not bad at all, you could even go higher if you like just make sure you keep the core temps under 70c and youll be fine. that or go way higher since you're replacing it either way haha.

can you up the multiplier?
