Hi Guys,

So currently I have been running the following setup for a few years, and I have noticed that my CPU temps are way out of line. It reaches about 95 degrees under load, and is sitting around 55 under idle.

Motherboard: MSI Exclipse SLI X58
CPU: Intel i7 920 2.66GHz
CPU Cooler: Stock
RAM: 6GM Apacer 1333Mhz
GPU: MSI GTX 560ti Hawk Edition
Case: Antec 1200

So I have been looking for a cooler the last couple of days and I am quite lost. At the moment I am looking at the Corsair H75 and the H80i. So I have a few questions:

1. Would it fit properly in my case? (Antec 1200)
2. Should I rather look at air coolers?
3. If not, what would be the better option between the two (H75/H80i) and is the extra cost worth it to go for the H80i?

Thanks!

Did you tweak something in BIOS about fan control ? And exactly on what temps it gives you 800RPM ? You sure it never spins more than 800RPM !

Actually this is normal, but when the temps reaches at 90 C then it should run at more RPM, check it thoroughly. Else you can use CM Hyper 212, will be sufficient for you.
Its not worrying temp on idle, mine is a i7 950 and the idle temp is 62 on summer and 55 in winter with the stock cooler.

But the worrying factor is on load, mine never reaches over 77. So you may clean and reapply thermal paste, or can get a Cooler.

You wont need a liquid cooler its a waste of money, and the added fear of leaking. Get this one to get the job done. It will fit on your case properly.
