I have ASUS X55C-SX161D and I want to upgrade the ram of it from 2gb to 6gb, so I wanted to know which specification of ram would be compatible with preinstalled ram by ASUS. please suggeset
is kind of your only option it says upgradeable to 6gb, but i dont' see 6gb sticks, you only have 1 ram slot, so you can't add to it you have to replace the one you have, this one is as fast as you can use, and is as large as you can use.
Hi. As Supahos has pointed out, you only have one slot. They do not make 6Gb sticks of ram. According to Crucial, you lappy is upgraddable to 8 Gb, ansd I came up with the same thing as Suahos did, so no point in posting a duplicate link.

I wondered if it might work with an 8gb stick, but would hate to suggest it and it not work. Doubleing the memory should still provide a pretty decent boost however.

According to his or her's post, they only have 2 Gb in there. Anything more than that would be an improvement, That GSkill stick was relatively inexpensive and the way I would go.
check your motherboards specs. it will have a list of compatable ram speeds.then go to custom pc.ie or komplett or elara .they will have a match ddr,ddr2,ddr3. speeds 1333 ,1600 ect
