Hello,

I was thinking to make a NAS using some kinda wifi router and USB HDD. I have 2 computers at home (one PC(has wifi dongle) and one Laptop) and would be nice if i could store all my data in one place (usually lots of pics, some docs, maybe movies) and have access from both computers. Has somebody done that? What do i need for hardware for that?

Also will i be able to access the drive with Android/iOS smartphone?

I was wondering also if i can configure it in such a way that i can access it also from other computers outside home network (work PC for example)? What would I need for such functionality?

Thanx in advance.

You'll need to read your tv manual to see if it supports wifi, otherwise you need an ethernet connection to the router. Anyhow, follow the tv manual to get connected to the network and if your tv is DLNA compliant (most are) it should automatically see the router as a media server and you'll be able to stream from it.

And another question - is it possible to configure smart TV to see such a drive? Would be nice to download movies using PC, save on "NAS" and then see the movies in a TV screen. What would i need for this to work?

Thanks for the answer.

What do i need on the TV side to make it receive wifi? do i put any wifi dongle in usb port and thats it? It will find the wifi network like a PC does?

I'm looking at something like this:
http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs/UN32EH5300FXZA
In my country the code is Samsung UE-32F5300AWXXH - dont know if it means something.

And i have found samsung tvs with smart tv feature and without. Do i need it? What does it add to the TV functionality?
