I am planning on replacing the 750GB HDD in my Alienware m14x Laptop, With a Crucial 960GB SSD. THis would be used for everything as It will be the only drive.
How long would the SSD last and would it be more viable to replace the disk drive with an HDD fore storage and just use the SSD for OS?

It will last longer than the computer will be useful. If you can afford the 960GB, I would do it -- I have 480/500GB in my laptops used for everything and it was a great upgrade from the HDDs.

It's definitely cheaper to get a smaller ssd and a big external hdd storage drive, but a single 1TB ssd would be pretty awesome. I use a ssd for windows on all 3 PCs in my house, and I could never go back to having windows on a hdd. You don't need to worry about a ssd lasting long enough. They have about as high of a fail rate as hdds but when they work they last for many years.
