I'm currently utilizing 8GB @ 1333mhz, and want to upgrade to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231455. I was originally going to purchase an overall set of 16g of ram but they sold out, so calling this my alternative.

Now, would I be able to purchase x2 of these, and would my rig register it as 16gigs w/ 1866mhz? My current mobo is a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131976.

Thanks.

Solution
May want to just look for a 2x8GB set if wanting 16GB, 2x8GB is better than 4x4GB - less stress on the MC (memory controller)...and to your question - never a good idea to mix sticks even of the same exact model - always best to buy a single package of the full amount you want
