Hello,

I just bought a gigabyte Radeon R9 280x. It has 2 places to connect power, an eight slot as well as a six. My power supply is a Corsair HTX 850w. The cables running out of the power supply marked PCI-E are 6+2 connectors. Do I use 6 pins or 8 pins for my connection? Or does the video card need power running to both sockets? Also, this is a huge card, and towards the front end (the end not connected) it sags a bit. Is this okay?

Solution
You need to connect both the 8 and the 6 on the card. you can use two 6+2 cables and connect 6+2 on to the 8 pin, and just the 6 on to the other 6pin connector.
