Hey guys, I've accidentally broken one fan blade out of 11 that are on the GPU itself, So now I'm worried if the GPU will die on me. It doesn't make any weird noises though but as far as I know, it causes un-balanced airflow. So my question is, is it possible to avoid failure by keeping the fan speed at lower RPM, because it's running just fine until it hits like 50+% when I notice slight vibrations passed down from the fans to my case. How will it run if I set it to 'Auto' on MSI Afterburner in games? Will it fail? I'm monitoring my temps, and as far as my observation goes, I haven't noticed any temp change.

Please take your time to help m a fellow out guys, I live in Afghanistan and it's a pain to find a replacement for the fan or to repair it in here. And the 680 costs 800$ here. I don't wanna end up with a non-operating GPU because it gets my job done and I currently don't have the budget to allow myself a new card. Thanks Alot! :D

The fan is out of balance now. That will eventually cause the fan motor bearings to wear and fail. Can you contact the manufacturer and ask if a replacement fan is available?

If the temps look ok and it works, just leave it be.

Running the fan with a missing blade is going to cause bearing failure due to imbalance. If you can't find a replacement fan, use super glue to put the blade back on. It will still be out of balance, but not nearly as badly. Let the superglue set at least 12 hours and keep an eye on the blade. If it fails again, you can remove the entire fan and use zip ties to put a small case fan on top.

Wish I could. :c Afghanistan isn't in their support list. I'm out of luck. Are there any alternatives?

Thank you very much. I'll try the super glue method, seems like that's the only thing I can do. I appreciate it, thanks again. :)

I super glued the fan blade, let it dry for 24 hours. Started it up and.... it WORKED! No buzzing noises, no vibrations whatsoever. Left it running for an hour with the fan speed at 55% and it's still there. Thank you very much for help. I wish there were more people like you in the Tech Community.

Glad it worked for you. Keep an eye on the joint - super glue gets brittle after a time, especially on non-porous materials like plastic, and the joint will weaken.
