I am not sure what Memory is compatible with the motherboard and processor I am choosing for my Gaming PC. I chose the ASRock z87 Extreme3 motherboard and an intel i5 4670k processor. I'm not to sure if you need to know anything else about my build to see what RAM is compatible. Please help.

QVLs are pretty much worthless - see here:

As far as the DRAM itself goes, DRAM is DRAM - most all DDR3 DRAM will work fine in any DDR3 mobo as long as the mobo and the CPU can support the freq (with the exception of ECC DRAM - most PC based mobos don't support that) - With your combo should be able to run most any 1600-2133 sticks at stock, if you want 2400/2666 then it may require a small OC of the CPU

But what I don't get is that some of the RAM when I click on them say that they are only compatible to 2nd or 3rd gen intel processors and not a 4th gen. What should I do? I even looked at the link the other person sent me too.
