Got a GA-945GZM-S2 mobo with 512MB RAM (Intel core 2 duo on it, Socket 775).
Mobo Specs says on CPU: "supports 1066 (by overclocking) /800/533MHz FSB"
But on Memmory says: "2 DDR II DIMM memory slots (supports up to 4GB memory)AND Supports dual channel DDR II 533/400 DIMM". Those statements confused me: is it ok to buy two 2GB DDR2-800 (KVR800D2N6/2G) or should I prefer DDR-667 (KVR667D2N5/2G)? Will I experience the performance upgrade I expect?

You can install DDR2-800 (or even faster) DIMMs on a motherboard that only supports slower speeds. The memory will just run at the slower speed. However, you can usually run at tighter timings at the slower speed. The timings are based on the fastest speed of the memory, and are usually seen in one of two formats: CAS X or X-X-X-X, where X is a number. Lower numbers are usually faster.

CPU bus speed is not always equal to the memory speed, which I think is where the confusion is coming from.

Thank you gentlemen!
I'll do as cklaubur said and try upgrading the system.
And as Supahos said I'll check if there is any strap, but think it is all done through bios.
Sorry for not closing this as solved last night, but my connection was not that good so went to sleep.
Regards,

Roger
