So I can get an i7-4770K for $99 and a i7-4930K for $179. I was willing to drop $300 for a new cpu but since it's so cheap I will be getting the 4930k. Why not?

Primary use is gaming. Secondary uses will be schoolwork and minor video and audio editing and rendering. I emphasize MINOR.

Since DDR4 is around the corner should I just get the cpu and hold off on the mobo till new boards get released?

No budget. I would like to run 3 or 4 x small size SSD raid 0 in the future just to get hands on experience doing it and hell why not boot in 10 seconds.

The board needs to have at least 8 sata ports at least 6 of those sata III 6gb.

When I say no budget I'm not trying to break the bank but I will spend money if I am convinced it's worth it

Currently: NZXT phantom full tower
2x4gb ram
Corsair h60
I5 2500k
Asrock extreme4 gen3 z68 mobo
Gtx 570 triple slot
Creative Z sound card
1tb to hdd
Corsair force SSD I think 10 gb
1 dvd rw and 1 bdrw

After the new cpu mobo comes a gtx 780 ti and once they release a water block for it I'd like to learn about custom loop water cooling and do that for this system. Hands on experience always helps learn about these things.

I am still learning more and more about computers so don't get extremely technical please. I can always Google terms and such.

Sorry if my grammer is off, English is tied for my first language.

Thanks for all the help in advance!!

Do you know if the 4770k will be able to use ddr4? If that is the case I would think it would be worth it over the 6 core, maybe I am just getting my hopes up.

no, no current processor will utilitze ddr4, I also don't see it making a big difference to be honest. Just get yourself some nice 2400mhz cl10 memory, and enjoy I think ddr4 may have higher latency and its release speed will be 2133.
