Hi~just build my new rig, spec is
i5-4670k with 212 evo cooler/ GSKILL 8G RAM / ASUS Maximus VI Hero / Intel 530 series 240G SSD / Fractal Design Define R4 Case / Seasonic M12II620W PSU

The problem is that the power supply cable for CPU is too short, and as of right now it is sitting on top of the back-plate of the cpu cooler. Is this going to be a problem in the long run? the back-plate shouldn't be too hot right?

the picture says it all.

I agree. This shouldn't be a problem and I am not aware of any or much heat associated with the back plate. Those CPU cables can be a bit on the short side. I ran mine fro the botto, to the top behind thr tray and barely had enough slack to plug it in when I got to the socket.

that is not a problem. The cable is long enough for a comfortable fit into the socket. Its just not long enough to go around the back-plate.

I was only worried that long term heating from the backplate will melt the cable somehow lol, but u guys put my mind at ease.
