Crossfire not working in Crysis

Hello! I'm having a problem caused by two issues that have met and combined. I'm trying to play Crysis with two Crossfired HD6950s. However, upon launch of the game into fullscreen mode, a 1-inch black border appears all around the game. To get rid of this, it's possible to Alt+Enter to force the game to fill the screen, but when I do this it for some reason thinks the game is no longer in fullscreen mode and disables Crossfire. Basically my options are play at fullscreen with only one video card running 30fps, or play with a black border around the game and get 60fps. The Crossfire bridge isn't the problem, as it works in all other games and in Crysis as long as I play with the border around the screen. Is there a way around this issue? Thank you!

Solution
have you tried different drivers? is the game updated to the latest patch? what version of windows are you running?
Get driversweeper and remove all AMD/ati drivers with it. then install the latest whql driver from AMD's website. enable crossfire. try again.

Sorry for the delay what with the holiday weekend and all. I'm running AMD's latest beta drivers on WIndows 7 and don't really have the option of rolling back, as it makes Battlefield 4 even more unbelievably unstable, and I play that more often than Crysis. Crysis is updated and I've seen plenty of people have the same black-border problem, but they are running single card setups and just Alt+Enter to fix the problem.
I am upgrading to Windows 8 tomorrow so I will update this question as to whether or not that fixed it.
