First off I like this forum. Tom's has help me solve many issues in the past so with that said......

My PC is orginally created from Ibuypower 3-4 years ago with Windows Vista. I've had Blue Screen issues for as long as I can remember and I was told that Vista has issues (which it does) and that upgrading WIndows could possibly solve my issue (no I don't want to format my HD). I've tried multiple things to try and fix this issue so this is my last go at it. I'm sure this is a hardware/compability issue which is causing this. I know that this might not solve the problem so if it doesn't then I'm just going to get a new PC (I'm overdue for an upgrade anyway).

I'm not sure weither I should just upgrade to Windows 7 or just jump to WIndows 8.1. I've read, for gaming 7 is were I need to be. I'm not sure which route to go here. Any help appreciated.....

Any time, and another thing I have seen with Win8 is that is not as user friendly and simple as Win7. Since you are moving from Vista, I would suggest the Win7 by far.

Above is correct, and for gaming, Windows 7 is where you want to be. The majority of games are running for Win7, while some are not optimized for Win8.

Yeah it would be mostly for 1920x1080 max settings. I still need to grab a couple upgrades but that's my aim. Like I said I'm leaning towards 7.
