Blank screen after clean installing Nvidia drivers

After I clean installed the new Nvidia graphics driver, after restarting my computer the screen would go blank (as it recieves no input) right before the login screen. I've tried installing older drivers but none seem to work as it still results in the same problem.

Specs:
Motherboard: Asus p8h67-m
CPU: i5-2400
Ram: 2x2gb Kingston Valueram
Graphics card: Gigbyte GTX660 oc
PSU: 550Watts

  1. Might be silly but have you tried a system restore?

Actually I have, but for some reason it fails to restore.
  3. Does it output as it should in safe mode?

Yes. Only after installing drivers does the screen go blank before the login on normal start up.
  5. I've had a similar problem when I first got my 6970, it turned out to be a faulty GPU. I'm not saying yours is but I don't know what to suggest. Sorry but good luck

But this only happened yesterday! I've only had the card for about a month.
