Im 14 and i recently decided to upgrade my crummy laptop to a decent desktop that i could build to get some computer knowledge and use for school work and light gaming. I found a site called PCPartPicker.com that could let me select some compatible parts. This is what i came up with..... http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2a01v Please give me some advice about how to improve this build without going too far over my budget. My budget is $500-$600.

This computer is really, really quite imbalanced. Give me a little while to come up with an alternate build.

Thanks a ton. I'm new to this but can't wait to build a computer with my brother. This should handle all of my basic gaming needs too right? (TF2) (Minecraft) ect.

The 650Ti will blow those games away with ease. You're good to go!

I don't know your budget. Could you specify?

Concerning the CPU, you are looking at 2 options.
Option 1
1. The i3-3220 isn't very fast anymore. Its losing relevance because it only has 2 cores and it cant be overclocked very much.
2. You should step up to the i5-3570k. Otherwise, you would be wasting your Z77's overclocking ability and you would be paying more for something you can't use.
3. Get a better CPU cooler like a Hyper 212 EVO/+
Option 2
1. Get the similarly priced FX 6300 from AMD. Its generally better than the i3-3220 for the same price, has 4 more cores, and can be overclocked.
2. Get A 970 chipset motherboard.
3. Get a better CPU cooler like a Hyper 212 EVO/+ (optional)

You are overpaying for that single DIMM of 8GB RAM. get a 2x 4GB kit. They are around $50 and offer better performance at that.

The GT 630 is very weak and is ill suited to play games. As a bottom line for GPUS, I would look at the GTX 650 Ti Boost or the HD 7850 for 1080p.

Don't get that PSU. You never want to cheap out on the PSU because it can break and take a lot of your more expensive parts with it. It only provides 15A on the +12v rail, which your whole system pretty much uses. This works out to only 180w for that rail, which is far below what you would expect from the PSU. To add to this, manufacturers usually provide those ratings for peak power situations and not for sustained usage, so you really want a PSU that has higher printed amperage than what you need.

I personally wouldn't look at anything that won't provide 20A on the +12V rail.

Edit: Looks like I got ninja'd. Well, I would still at least look at my part on the PSU. The 650 Ti Boost and the 7850 may be overkill for your intents and purposes.

so i was looking at your setup and i saw this at the bottom...Compatibility Notes
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard has an onboard USB 3.0 header, but the NZXT Source 210 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case does not have front panel USB 3.0 ports.---will this be a problem for me?

No. It simply means your front USB 3.0 ports will not be present. Your rear ones will be fine. All USB 2.0 ports will be fine.
