i want to tell you a better graphics card but that i3-2120 might hold you back some. so an i5-2400 or i5-3470 if you upgrade the BIOS and 4Gbs more of RAM.

but are you playing games? and which ones at what resolution? a gpu still might be a bit better . .

i would look at the cpu. now a bit of a head scratcher is according to the asus site:
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H61M_LX3_PLUS/#support
your motherboard supports the i5-3450 but not the 3470.

however i see the 3450K and even though you couldn't take advantage of an unlock multiplier with an H61 motherboard, it still is a consideration. later you could get a Z77 or Z75 motherboard to make use of that.

let me throw out a few options with the biggest first:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3330 3.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($149.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock Z75 Pro3 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($76.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($49.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $264.97
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

a bit over budget BUT even though that's a locked i5 the motherboard will take advantage of an unlocked K series later if you upgrade. also i think you probably have 1333 RAM and going with 1600 will make a difference in gaming. there is a small step up from 1600 to 1866 not that much for the cost like there is with 1333 to 1600.

you could get just a cpu but your motherboard being more budget oriented is a slight hindrance, sorry.
