Hello, as this being my first post id like to thank anyone reading and taking the time to help me with this issue. As the title states, i recently purchased Asrock's M8 barebone computer, installed my CPU, RAM, etc. and got it up running with Windows 8.1. Here are links to the product on the companys page and Neweggs as well:

http://www.asrock.com/microsite/m8/

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16856158036

Everything is working splendidly during operation, all the settings and tweak(s) in the UEFI and BIOS work like a charm, and really asking for anything more than whats expected or included would be greedy,

However, the towers "A-Command" knob on the front of the tower, are lacking the functions promised from the products description. To be exact, When turning the knob, each click of it should display and tweak these functions:

-Volume
-Mode (performance, standard, and power saver)
-Info (CPU frequency)
-Time
-Light

However, the only functions I can chose from are light and time... its very odd, and I cant change the time or date either, i can only choose from a yes or no option, albiet they both work. I havnt really made any effort to fix this, mainly because i dont know what can really be done i regards to it anyway, other than inserting the factory included software disc, which brings me to my next issue.

When I insert this driver/software disc thats for the motherboard, it is supposed to display a list of utilities and drivers for my PC. However, the only program that appears is google chrome! I went into the CD directory and installed what I believed to be all of the drivers and programs manually, but to be honest im not sure if they all are working correctly, but as stated earlier, everything during operation of my PC seems to be working like a charm. But I would assume that obviously this issue probably has some relation to my A-Command not displaying all the functions that its supposed to display.

I am really hoping this is a simple fix and wont require me to send back my PC , as i have now completely built it and do not want to restart, however If that is what it will ultimately take then i will do it.

Thank you in advance for anyones potential help and time to listen to my issue!

here are my installed main hardware for it:

CPU = Intel Haswell i7-4770k with stock fan
RAM = 1.35v 16gb DDR3 laptop

I just built my own Asrock m8 and the provided disc I received had a list of programs and drivers to install. If I remember correctly there is 4 or 5 menu headings at the top of the screen when the disc runs, one for drivers, one for other programs like splashtop etc. In one of these menus is the drivers for the A-command. After installing these drivers the other functions on the A-command become available. If the A-command drivers are not on the disc, you could probably try contacting asrock to have them send you the drivers or a new disc. I doubt you will have to send it back to get the issue corrected.

That is correct, though the disk that came with the box wouldn't load correctly, and I ended up just downloading A-Command for the front and A-Tuning for other things. Those are the only I've tried so far. I also use Open Hardware Monitor to keep track of my temps in this tiny case.

And if you haven't done so already, I highly recommend swapping the direction of one of the top and bottom fans, with the end result being both top fans blowing out and both bottom fans as intakes. This dropped the temps in my system over 15C.. I even emailed Asrock, and I hope people in the future do this as well. If you have questions feel free to message me.

So, do you guys know what the different modes actually do? Just fan control? Auto-overclocking? I'd like detailed descriptions somewhere... Asrock's website loads SO slow, getting anything from them is painful even with my 100mb/s downloads!
